Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a great way to keep the visible signs of ageing at bay, and with good reason.
They are safe, painless and give great results!

If you would like to have a younger, more rested appearance, enhance your existing features, defy age and gravity and increase your confidence – without invasive surgery, scarring or waiting to see results: Dermal Fillers is your answer.

Dermal Fillers provide temporary to long-lasting solutions by reducing the effects of age, exposure to excessive sunlight and day to day stress, causing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Naso labial lines (between the nose and mouth)
Marionette lines (‘smile lines’ in the corners of the mouth)

Depressions and blemishes (such as acne scars),
Hollow or sunken cheeks (caused by fat atrophy due to the ageing process)
Correcting indentations, tips, bumps and unevenness in the nose and chin
Improving contours of the jawline.
Sunken eyes (Tear Troughs)
Lip enhancement

There are many different types of dermal fillers in the market but only a few dermal fillers have demonstrated predictable, long term results, minimal swelling and redness after treatment.

The dermal fillers which are used at Visona Beauty, such as Juvederm, Teosyal, Skinfill, Restylane, are made from a complex sugar called Hyaluronic Acid, which naturally occurs in the body.  The Hyaluronic Acid assists in skin hydration by attracting and holding water, and also combines with collagen and elastin to provide skin structure and elasticity. We use a range of dermal fillers with different viscosity to treat the various areas of concern. The result from the treatments is immediate and will last six to eighteen months.

These products have consistently demonstrated predictability and safety.

Frequently Asked Questions:

There are a variety of dermal fillers available on the market. All have varying degrees of volumising effects and last for a variable amount of time. The most commonly used fillers are hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan that is found naturally in abundance in good healthy skin. It has the ability to bind large amounts of water. Hyaluronic acid fillers typically last for around 6-9 months before they are reabsorbed. Other less commonly used synthetic fillers consist of poly-L-lactic acid, polycaprolactone and calcium hydroxyapatite. These fillers last for longer and have a more rejuvenating effect on the face as a whole. However, there are added risks associated with these fillers and are less easily moulded.

Dermal filler injections provide an easy way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, smooth the skin and give a more youthful appearance. The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and can last for around 6 to 9 months. Dermal filler injections can give a natural looking result that does not affect facial expression. As your face changes over time, dermal fillers allow you to control you looks subtly as you age.

One of the great advantages of dermal filler treatment is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Duration depends on many factors, such as the individual’s skin type, skin condition lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 6 to 12 months depending on the individual and the treatment. A treatment of the lips or cheeks lasts about 6 months.

After receiving your dermal injections, you might experience some mild redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or itching. These effects should clear up in less than 7 days (or 14 days for lips). Redness can be concealed using foundation or concealer. In general, most patients experience little or no downtime – which means you can return to work and continue with your usual daily activities.

Most patients only experience mild discomfort. As the needles used for dermal fillers are very fine. The amount of pain experienced by patients is minimal and the procedure does not require anaesthesia. Many of the dermal filler products available today contain Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to minimise your discomfort. Topical numbing creams can be used to  minimise discomfort when injecting sensitive areas.

Most people can benefit from dermal filler treatment.

Dermal fillers should not be used in or near areas where there is or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin related  problems. Dermal fillers have not been tested in pregnant or breast-feeding women. Individuals with medical conditions that lower the body’s immune response, undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive may be more prone to infection by a skin injection procedure.

During your pre-treatment consultation, you will thoroughly discuss your medical history.

All faces are individual, with different needs and with different expected results. For this reason there are different versions of ULTRA.

This is a new product developed especially for the lips and this is extra long-lasting. It is a completely new type of filler that will give a soft and natural look and will last up to 12 months. This product was developed to be even smoother than other fillers with hyaluronic acid. Its smooth consistency makes it easy to inject, and results in an even result with a natural feeling and appearance.
